Crews quickly extinguish brush fire near Nevada-California state line

The Reno Fire Department quickly extinguished a brush fire along westbound I-80 near Boomtown on Tuesday afternoon.

Reno Fire and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District worked rapidly to control the fire, and full containment was achieved at 1:45 p.m. Total acreage burnt was about two acres. No RVs or structures were lost, and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire in still under investigation.

According to Reno Fire Department, they received a report of a male who was seen near the origin and was previously evicted by the RV Resort.
