Fire crews extinguish three acre wildfire near Carson City Gun Range

Carson City Fire crews quickly extinguished a three-acre brush fire that started just after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, at the Carson Rifle and Pistol Range off U.S. 50 east of Carson City.

The fire was near containment at 2:30 p.m.

The range will be closed the remainder of the day and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire Chief Sean Slamon said no structures were threatened.
