RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The Reno Police Department and the Reno Fire Department responded to a single vehicle crash on Saturday, January 5.
According to Reno Police, the car crash closed the intersection of W. Fourth St. and McCarran Blvd.
Officers say the car crashed into a signal light pole and knocked it down Also, that the driver sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital.
They also say the signal is currently in flashing mode and City of Reno crews will be working over the coming days to repair the damaged signal as winds subside.
Commuters who travel through the area may see altered and reduced traffic signal operations through the coming days.
The City of Reno says drivers should treat the intersection as a four-way stop and are advised to allow extra time for travel through the area.
The repairs are expected to be completed on Monday, January 7. The investigation on the crash is ongoing.
