There is a last-minute rush to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act before Friday's 11:59 pm deadline.

Consumers visited the Reno-Sparks Convention Center Friday for Nevada Health Link's enrollment event and health fair.

There were dozens of insurance brokers on hand to walk people through the enrollment process step-by-step.

If you missed today's event, call HealthCare.gov at 1-800-318-2596 before midnight and create a profile.

Callers will be placed in a queue and a health care professional will call them back to enroll.

Consumers who do not sign up for health insurance before the deadline could be penalized.

Last year, the penalty was either 2.5 percent of your total household income or nearly $700 per uninsured adult and nearly $350 per uninsured child -- whichever figure is higher.
