Biggest Little Political Debate held at downtown City Plaza

RenoElections.org held the biggest political debate in Reno's history, the 'Biggest Little Political Debate' in downtown Reno.

The event took place at the downtown Reno City Plaza on Saturday, October 20.

All General Election candidates for Mayor, City Council, and Washoe County School Board, challengers and incumbents, were invited to debate.

According to RenoElections.org, Reno faces extreme challenges to its future including:

  • City debt exceeding $900 million
  • An out-of-control homeless problem
  • A rising violent crime rate
  • The lowest ranked schools in the nation

RenoElections.org has two goals:

  1. To increase voter turnout in the General Election far beyond the embarrassing 27% who voted in the Primary.
  2. To educate voters about the issues so they can make informed choices.
