Central Lyon Fire brush truck headed to Oklahoma to help with massive Rhea Fire

A Central Lyon Fire brush truck is headed to Oklahoma to help with the massive Rhea Fire, which has spread to nearly 250,000 acres with just 3 percent containment.

According to the fire district's Facebook account, the Central Lyon Fire County Fire Protection District will remain fully staffed.

"Our actual costs of providing assistance are fully reimbursed and there is no impact to the District’s budget. We have benefited from resources from other States and District’s in the past, notably the Fort Churchill and Mico fires last year. It is good to be able to return the favor and assist others in their time of need. The experience our crew will bring back home will help gear us up for our own fire season."

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District has also deployed a brush truck to the area.
