CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV) — Many parents are scrambling to find ways to get their kids to school after the Carson City School District (CCSD) announced Thursday afternoon it would temporarily cut bus services for a majority of students across the district.
The district said due to staffing shortages, bus services will be limited to only special education routes effective Friday, Jan. 21 through Tuesday, Jan. 25.
Officials are asking families to make arrangements to transport their regular education students to and from school until further notice. Many parents have voiced their frustrations due to the late notice.
Superintendent Richard Stokes told News 4-Fox 11 during an interview Friday the services will be limited through at least Monday.
The district said in the short-term, staff will make daily communications to update parents and students on the ability to fully resume transportation service.
