As Carson City School District schools are resuming in-person classes this week, school officials released a guide on the district website to advise parents on how to screen their children for coronavirus symptoms every morning before school.

The daily health screening guide focuses on specific symptoms students or other family members may have experienced in the last 24 hours that are “new” or “different” from ongoing health conditions such as asthma, allergies, reflux and COPD.

If children exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, parents are advised to contact the local health department and arrange testing.

The guide is available on the Carson City School District website. Parents are also advised to check the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for the most up-to-date information.
