Carson City museums celebrate Chinese New Year with dancers, drummers and dragons

    The Carson City Museum along with the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada joined forces to bring the public a Chine New Year celebration.

    The Chinese New Year event celebrated Chinese culture with dancers, drummers and dragons on Saturday, February 9.

    The event featured Chinese dance demonstrations and crafts in the Dema Guinn Concourse at the Nevada State Museum, which included the famous lion dance. A parade was also experienced from the museum Concourse to the Children’s Museum.

    Attendees also experienced Chinese New Year-inspired crafts for kids, a Chinese dance demonstration and a performance of the Reno Taiko Drummers.
