Winter weather made for snowy conditions and slick roads Thursday night over the Donner Pass on Interstate 80.

The California Department of Transportation had to set up chain checkpoints at Kingvale and Donner Lake Road, only for chain controls to extend to Nyack and Truckee as the night went on.

  • Mt. Rose Highway (SR 431) from Diamond Peak to Slide Mountain Highway
  • Kingsbury Grade (SR 207): From miles post 0.0 in Douglas County to mile post 12.0
