Bishop Manogue Catholic High School receives social media threat
Bishop Manogue Catholic High School was contacted by Washoe County Police on May 31 about a potential threat made against the school via social media.
Someone threatened saying that a campus shooting would occur on June 1, yet law enforcement are unable to verify who made the threat.
School administration immediately sent a letter to the students' homes on Thursday evening stating that students had the option to stay home as an excused absence.
The school principal said that the school is fully committed to campus safety and disciplinary action will occur if it is determined that a student was the source of the threat.
Campus security was tightened today and Washoe County patrolling will continue until the end of next week.
Many students did not attend class today. Nothing happened on the campus. The investigation continues.
