Attorney: West in hospital, believed to have been overdosed on methadone by jail physician

An emergency hearing was set for Friday, May 27, 2016, after Richard Winston West II was hospitalized.

News 4-Fox 11 has uncovered new information regarding the hospitalization of Richard Winston West II.

West and eight others are facing federal drug charges. He's been detained at the Washoe County Jail since his arrest in April.

Court documents reveal West remains in intensive care after being discovered in his jail cell unresponsive earlier this week.

West's attorney, David Houston, says it's believed his client was overdosed on methadone by the jail's physician. The documents reveal West was revived with Narcan.

But as a result of the overdose, West now suffers from double pneumonia as vomit entered into his lungs.

An emergency hearing on this situation is set before Federal Magistrate William Cobb on Friday, May 27, beginning at 10 a.m.
