All lanes of I-80 reopen after boulder in roadway causes closure
All lanes of I-80 are reopen after a boulder fell into the roadway causing a temporary closure Saturday night.
According to Pete Mann with the California Highway Patrol, the boulder landed in the roadway shortly before 8 p.m. just west of the Nevada State Line.
Mann says two semi trucks crashed into the boulder leading to the closure. He says no one was injured, but the boulder was so big it took two plow trucks to push it out of the roadway.
This happened in the area of the burn scar from the Farad Fire, according to Mann. He says the westbound lanes of I-80 were both closed for about 15 minutes and traffic was reduced to one lane for about 25 minutes.
All lanes of I-80 have since reopened in the area.
