78-year-old pedestrian dies after being struck by SUV in Incline Village
A 78-year-old California resident died after being struck by an SUV Friday in Incline Village, according to authorities.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded just before 5:40 p.m. to the intersection of Lakeshore and Village boulevards on Friday, January 12.
The investigation indicates a 78-year-old person was crossing northbound Village in a marked crosswalk when struck by an SUV heading west.
The driver of the SUV immediately called 911 and rendered aid to the pedestrian, the sheriff's office said in a statement. The pedestrian, identified as Roza Mostova of Berkeley, was taken to Renown via Care Flight and pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Major Accident Investigation Team responded, and the investigation is ongoing, according to the sheriff's office. The driver is cooperating, and investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol to be factors in the incident.
