43-year-old snowboarder from Connecticut dies at Northstar California Resort

A 43-year-old snowboarder from New Caanan, Connecticut died at Northstar California Resort on Thursday, Feb. 23 after a serious incident, according to a spokesperson with the resort.
The Placer County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 43-year-old Michael North.
The resort released a statement saying, "Northstar, Northstar Ski Patrol and the entire Vail Resorts family extend our deepest sympathy and support to our guest’s family and friends,” said Nadia Guerriero, vice president and general manager of Northstar California."
Northstar Ski Patrol responded to an incident on advanced terrain, where the guest had been snowboarding at the resort.
Northstar Fire Department provided further emergency care and pronounced the man deceased.
No other information was released.
