4.0-magnitude earthquake reported off Mono Lake in California
A 4.0-magnitude earthquake was reported Friday night just east of Mono Lake in California, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was reported at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, with an epicenter about 11.6 miles southeast of Bodie, California, and west of the state line with Nevada.
Interactive maps showed some shaking might have reached as far north as Hawthorne, Nevada.
There have been no immediate reports of damage. The magnitude was updated from an initial report of 3.9.
