HAWTHORNE, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — An initial 3.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded just after midnight Wednesday in western Nevada, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was reported about 16 miles west of Hawthorne and near the California state line at 12:04 a.m.
The reported epicenter is in the same area where a series of earthquakes shook much of the region early morning Dec. 28.
