3 dead, 7 injured in crash at Flamingo and Eastern in Las Vegas
A multi-vehicle crash left three people dead and seven people injured.
The tragic scene played out at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Eastern Avenue just after 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
Police say some of those injured were pedestrians and others were in the cars involved in the crash.
All victims that were injured were transported to local hospitals. Two out of those seven victims are in critical condition.
Officials believe the driver who likely caused the deadly pile-up was under the influence.
"This is a terrible, terrible crash and unfortunately we suspect that there may be an impaired driver that is involved in this so everybody needs to make sure that they are watching their driving habits and make sure something like this doesn’t happen to them," said Officer Larry Hadfield with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Bystanders watched in disbelief as police blocked off the street and began accident reconstruction.
“You gotta be careful on these roads these roads is getting dangerous. Too dangerous," said Savonn Barnes who lives in the area.
“You gotta pay attention even if your walking it’s still good to pay attention to your surroundings because you never know," said Tiffoni Richardson who lives in the area.
Many of them saying this kind of accidents involving pedestrians in the City of Las Vegas is something they've seen far too often.
At this time, the intersection of South Eastern Avenue and Eastern Flamingo Road will be closed for some time.
