The state of Nevada is virtually free of extreme drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor's newly released data.

Only 0.26 percent of the state was in extreme drought conditions, data collected on June 14 shows.

About 22 percent of Nevada is in severe drought, while the rest is in either moderate or no drought.

Just three months ago about 23 percent of the state was in extreme drought, while that number was about 48 percent a year ago.
