BestMedicine Wednesday: Genes as a heart risk blueprint


Recently, Renown and the Desert Research Institute announced phase two of its groundbreaking, community-based population health study, the Healthy Nevada Project. In phase two, heart disease is one specific area of research because of Washoe County’s high age-adjusted death rates for heart disease.

News 4's Shelby Sheehan sat down with Dr. Chris Rowan, a cardiologist with Renown Institute for Heart and Vascular Health, to discuss how this project is giving us insights into genetics and heart disease.
