Hundreds of people enjoyed the Northern Nevada Pride Festival and CommUNITY Parade in Reno on Saturday.

The parade kicked off at 11 a.m. and traveled down California Avenue from Plumas Street to Arlington Avenue.

Organizers said the festival was scheduled to run from noon to 6 p.m. at Wingfield Park. Everyone was invited to enjoy art, music, entertainment and much more. There was no entry fee for the event, but donations were accepted.

Lady Bunny, a comedienne, DJ, singer/songwriter and creator of Wigstock, was slated to perform at 1 p.m.

Amber, artist of hits "This is your night" and "Sexual,” was set to take the stage at 5:15 p.m.

The mission of the event, which is an official part of Artown, “is to empower all members of our fun-loving community. We will bring together the LGBTQ community, allies, and businesses to promote diversity, celebrate our culture, remember our history, and advocate for our future,” a news release read.
