So to show just how hot it's been, I decided to try to melt some crayons!

The best part about this weather experiment -- you can do it at home.

Cassie's Crayon Experiment

What you need:

  • Guerrilla Glue
  • Crayons
  • Poster Board
  • Plastic (to protect your lawn or patio)
  • Total Cost: $15

Directions:

  • Glue crayons to the top of the poster board, tip facing down... and pick a fun color scheme!
  • Let set indoors for 2 hours (or until hardened)
  • Get your outdoor spot ready and lay down plastic if needed
  • Set poster board up on an incline facing the sun
  • Let mother nature to the work (my melting took 30 minutes in direct sunlight with an ambient air temperature of 90)
  • Bring inside and lay flat to cool and dry

I'd love to see your artwork--- make sure to send me a photo: cwilson@mynews4.com.
