Student scientists come out for 50th annual Western Nevada Regional Science Fair
RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
Student scientists of all sizes came out to compete in this year's Western Nevada Regional Science Fair Wednesday night, marking the 50th anniversary of the fair.
The projects were submitted by winners of over 30 school science fairs in 12 Nevada counties.
Around 200 participants ranging from 5th grade to high school competed, with projects covering topics such as math, environmental studies, life sciences, engineering and more.
Each participant submitted a poster detailing their experiment, and students were expected to answer questions from judges about their hypothesis, process, and results.
Winners will be announced on Thursday, March 8, and the top 3 projects in the high school division will go on to compete in the INEL International Science & Engineering Fair in Los Angeles from May 14-19.
