Sanaz Tahernia is a morning reporter for News 4 and Fox 11.
Lawyer turned journalist, Sanaz has spent most of her life in the coastal city of Rancho Palos Verdes in Southern California. She graduated Cum Laude from UCLA with her bachelor’s degree in Sociology before attending Southwestern Law School. After receiving her Juris Doctor degree and passing the California State Bar exam, Sanaz started her legal career litigating cases involving, among other things, claims of civil rights violations against the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Sanaz then went on to practice business litigation, representing private clients on both the plaintiff and defense side.
After several years she decided to pursue her passion for broadcast journalism and enrolled at Boston University's College of Communication. During her time at B.U., she focused her studies around television reporting, serving as the student reporter for the political app "INVOLVD" and hosting/producing the weekly live newscast, "Good Morning, B.U.", among other projects. Sanaz completed the program in December 2016 and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Science in Journalism.
As soon as she graduated she moved to Maine to work as a Multimedia Journalist for WLBZ, and after a few months she made her way to Reno.
As a former fitness instructor and a self-proclaimed fitness fanatic, Sanaz likes to spend her free time working out - and when she's not breaking a sweat, she's catching up on her sleep.
