Colin Jackson joins us from Bakersfield, California, where he spent the last four years as the Chief Meteorologist at 23-ABC KERO-TV.
Prior to that, Colin spent six years in Fresno as the Morning Meteorologist at KSEE-24-NBC.
From 1999 through 2004, he earned his American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval while covering severe weather in Austin and San Antonio, Texas. He's seen it all -- everything from severe thunderstorm warnings, tornadoes, and flash flooding. This weather kept him busy while raising his Texas-born son Brad.
He and his wife Diana decided to move back to California in 2005 to be closer to family and -- two years later -- the couple had their second child, Tannis, now 10 years old.
Moving to the Reno area was an easy decision, since Reno is so close to Lake Tahoe. His kids are avid skiers and hikers, and they love to fish and camp.
Colin graduated from Cal-State University Dominguez Hills and completed Mississippi State's Broadcast Meteorology program.
Fun fact -- born in Winnipeg, Canada, Colin is a huge hockey fan and actually worked for the Los Angeles Kings for four seasons, from 1990-1994.
Colin also plays piano, drums, and a some guitar. His daughter plays guitar, as well, and now knows more chords than he does!
