Alexandria Cannito joined the News 4 team in March of 2013. After working as a video editor and associate producer, Alex was promoted to the position of reporter.
Alex has always had a passion for telling stories. Throughout her childhood, Alex performed in many plays and musicals -- including her favorite show, Hairspray. While she loves taking the stage, her true passion has always been journalism. Since she was eight years old, Alex knew she wanted to be a reporter. It was her interest in reporting that led her to the University of Nevada where she majored in Broadcast Journalism and minored in Communication Studies. During her time in college, Alex was the first recipient of the Tony and Linda Bonnici Broadcasters Scholarship. She also worked nearly two years on News 4 Today where she started out as a part time video editor, and then she was promoted to associate producer. It was after she earned her degree that she began her career as a reporter.
In her free time, Alex enjoys volunteering in the community, working out, and adding glitter to everything she crafts. Even though she only gets to see her family during the holidays, Alex is very close with her parents and younger sister. They never miss a newscast, watching News 4 online every day.
