Two local student athletes sign letters of intent

A pair of talented Northern Nevada high school student athletes made their college commitments official on Wednesday.

Carson High School volleyball player Jaycie Roberts signed her letter of intent to play for Niagara University in New York. The three-year varsity player for the Senators racked up over a thousand kills in her career and helped Carson to a record of 21-11 in her senior year.

Jaycie told News 4 that despite getting a late start on the recruiting process, everything worked out and she is going to attend and play for the college of her dreams.

And over at Sparks High School Frankie Macias signed his letter of intent to play soccer for Webster University in Missouri. During his senior season the Railroaders went 25-2-1 overall and beat Western High School out of Las Vegas for the NIAA 3A Championship.
