Reno alum Shaw helps Boise State clinch NCAA Tournament birth
Reno, Nev. —
Behind 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal, Reno High School Alum Shalen Shaw helped the Boise State Broncos to a 66-53 win over No. 7 Boise State in the Mountain West Tournament Championship game.
Now in her junior year, the Reno native entered the game needing two assists in order to become the second player in Boise State history to record 800 points, 600 rebounds, and 200 assists. Shaw had three against the Fresno State to join Connie Sandland (1980-84) in the club.
This is the first NCAA tournament berth for Boise State since 2005. The Broncos are riding a 10 game winning streak and a program-record 25 games this season.
