Bishop Manogue girl's basketball head coach Carlnel Wiley steps down

Coach Wiley steps down at Bishop Manogue to pursue Nevada women's basketball head coaching vacancy

After leading the Bishop Manogue girls basketball team to the state basketball tournament in both seasons as their head coach, Carnel Wiley has decided to step down in order to pursue the Nevada head women's basketball coaching vacancy Jane Albright left behind just a few weeks ago.

“I am incredibly proud of the last two years and what has been accomplished with the team of coaches and staff that I have been so fortunate to work with,” said Wiley. “This has been an exciting time for the woman’s basketball program at Bishop Manogue. I did what I set out to do, and have hopefully prepared the way for the next phase of growth. Most of all, I’m very thankful for the opportunity to have coached this incredibly talented group of young women.”

Over his two-year tenure at Manogue, Wiley led the Miners to a 47-5 overall record including a girl's basketball state runner-up this past season.

Wiley has experience as an assistant on the men's level at five different colleges around the nation but he wants to stay in the Reno area because of his daughter who is in the fifth grade.
