Stroud wins Barracuda Championship in three-way playoff
Reno, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
It took 11 years and nearly 300 tournaments, not to mention a pair of weather delays and a three-way playoff, but for long time PGA Tour pro Chris Stroud, it was worth the wait.
Stroud would birdie on 18 twice to outlast Greg Owen and Richy Werenski to capture the 2017 Barracuda Championship for his first win on the PGA Tour.
He started the day down 14 points, but had the best round of the tournament with 20 points, capped off by an eagle on number 18.
Stroud took home nearly $600,000 in winnings along with his tour card for next season and an entry into the 2017 PGA Championship at Sleepy Hollow.
