Nevada Wolf Pack to wear ribbon on helmets in tribute to Las Vegas shooting victims
The Nevada Wolf Pack football team will wear a special ribbon on their helmets for the rest of the season in tribute to the victims of Sunday's mass shooting in Las Vegas.
Head coach Jay Norvell announced on Twitter that players would wear a silver ribbon bearing the city's name and the date of the attack, "10/1/17."
UNLV also announced its football team and San Diego State would wear red ribbons with the words "Las Vegas" on them for this Saturday's game.
The ribbons will be drawn onto the playing field at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. A special pregame ceremony to honor the victims and recognize the first responders and local heroes is planned for Saturday as well.
The Wolf Pack are scheduled to host UNLV on Saturday, Nov. 25, at Mackay Stadium.
