Ask Joe: (Follow-up) Family of paralyzed teen receives $30,000 donation
Wednesday's Ask Joe question: Betty wrote in asking if there is an update on the Reno teenager who was paralyzed in a trampoline accident?
Here's what I found out:
Joshua Southworth suffered a devastating injury and was paralyzed from the neck down in a trampoline accident last year. Joshua is at a rehabilitation center in Salt Lake City now and there are some encouraging signs but the progress is slow.
In the meantime, we have learned that a local foundation which has chosen to remain anonymous has donated $30,000 to the Southworth family to help them purchase a van with a lift for Joshua. With the $25,000 from the go fund me account that's been set up and a couple of other donations there is almost enough to purchase the van. So that's some very encouraging news that we are happy to report.
If you would like to help the family out you can check out the go fund me account set up for "Joshua Southworth's Van Project." Any amount will help them get a little closer to what they need.
