Runaway 'unicorn' gets pulled over in central California
MADERA, Calif. (KRNV/KCRA/KSEE) —
A white pony outfitted as a unicorn led California Highway Patrol officers on a chase Wednesday night in Madera.
CHP confirmed with KCRA and KSEE that the pony, dressed up for a photo shoot, ran away at about 2:30 p.m. before it was recaptured.
It escaped again at about 5:30 p.m. and ran onto the road. CHP tracked it down by using a helicopter and heat-seeking radar.
While the sight is a bit silly, a CHP spokesman said had the pony been hit by a car moving at roadway speed, the driver and any occupants could have been seriously injured or killed.
