Reno woman identified after fatal DUI crash in Sparks
SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the woman killed in a fatal DUI crash in Sparks earlier this month.
On April 5, just before 11:15 p.m., troopers from NHP were dispatched to the area of McCarran Blvd. & Pyramid Hwy. for a serious injury crash involving three vehicles.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a black 2006 Nissan Frontier was traveling the wrong way on westbound McCarran Blvd. approaching the eastbound lanes of Pyramid Hwy.
A beige 2004 Mercury Stable was traveling east on McCarran in the left lane, approaching Pyramid Hwy.
A third vehicle, a red 1989 Ford Aerostar van was also heading eastbound on McCarran next to the Mercury. The front of the Nissan struck the front of the Mercury Stable head-on. After striking the Mercury, the front of the Nissan struck the left front of the Ford Aerostar van.
All three drivers and one passenger in the Ford Aerostar were transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the Ford Aerostar van, Linda Hutchcroft of Reno, 67, succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the Nissan Frontier, Clinton Godak of Payson, Arizona, 24, was released from the hospital and booked into the Washoe County Jail on several charges including felony DUI causing death.
The driver of the Mercury sustained non-life threatening injuries.
According to NHP, the crash is still under investigation.
