Wolf Pack TE coach Spady hired as Alabama A&M head coach

      HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (KRNV & - Nevada Assistant Coach James Spady has been hired as head coach at Alabama A&M University.

      Spady is in his fourth year as the Tight Ends and Co-Offensive Line coach with the Wolf Pack staff. He joined the Nevada staff after a three-year stint as Offensive Coordinator at Grambling. He also had coaching stops at UTEP, North Carolina Central and South Carolina State.

      Alabama A&M Director of Athletics Bryan Hicks said he is excited that Coach Spady has accepted the offer. "He represents another giant step on our journey toward excellence in athletics."

      Nevada Head Coach Brian Polian congratulated Spady on the opportunity to lead the Bulldogs. "James is a terrific football mind, teacher, and an exceptional recruiter who will no doubt raise the standard of Bulldog football. I know that he will have a positive effect on every student-athlete he encounters and in the community as well. We wish James and Barb nothing but the best as they begin this new journey."

      Spady will be introduced on Friday in Huntsville, Alabama.
