Washoe County Sheriff's deputies prevent drunk driving crash in north Reno
RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
Two Washoe County Sheriff's deputies are being praised after the role they played in a drunk driving crash late Tuesday night.
Bob Harmon says that two deputies who were assigned to the Joining Forces campaign were driving southbound on North Virginia near the Bonanza Casino when they observed a passenger car travelling northbound in the southbound lanes.
The deputies position themselves in front of the suspected drunk drive in order to provide a barrier to prevent the driver from striking other civilians.
Marc Taylor, 32, was arrested on charges related to DUI and failure to maintain a lane.
Harmon says the deputies are recovering from minor injuries.
The Reno Police Department will take over the investigation since sheriff's deputies were involved.
