Washoe County urges residents to sign up for emergency notifications
RENO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
There are different ways to be notified of a wildfire in the region, but emergency officials are asking residents to add a phone notification system.
Washoe County Emergency Services is reminding people they can sign up for Code Red, a reverse dialer that calls residents when a fire threatens a neighborhood.
Residents are asked to register a cell phone, so in the event a fire destroys landlines they can still receive notifications.
