Washoe County Medical Examiner positively identifies man found dead along river in 2008
SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner's Office, with the help of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's special National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), has positively identified a man who died along in Truckee River in Jan. 2008.
Terry Frankson, 56 at the time of his death, was identified by fingerprint comparison in early May 2017.
Mr. Frankson's body was discovered along the banks of the Truckee River east of Sparks in Jan. 2008.
An autopsy determined that Frankson's cause of death was a drowning, however, the manner of death could not be determined along with his identity.
Mr. Frankson's next of kin have been notified and have claimed his remains.
