Tahoe's first and only dispensary to sell recreational marijuana
The silver state just got a little more green with Lake Tahoe's first marijuana dispensary "NuLeaf Tahoe" selling recreational marijuana, Saturday morning.
Hundreds of people from all over waited up to an hour at "NuLeaf Tahoe."
"NuLeaf Tahoe" opened its doors in 2013. It is the first and only dispensary in the Tahoe basin, making it the closest dispensary to the California border.
"It's been a long process here and getting the store licensed and opened. We've been working on this since 2013," said NuLeaf co-owner Sean Luse. "It's been a four-year process basically. We've very excited we've been able to win the trust of the community and upgraded this facility."
By law, customers must be 21 and older to purchase recreational marijuana. Dispensaries in California will be able to sell recreational cannabis within the state in January.
