Special Olympics Nevada hosts annual Polar Plunge

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Cali. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
Special Olympics Nevada is hosting their annual South Lake Tahoe Polar Plunge on Saturday, Mar. 18.
The plunge will feature a full weekend of events and activities in the icy waters of Tahoe at Zephyr Cove.
The "space odyssesy" themed Polar Plunge features Special Olympics supporters raising $100 each to take a chilly run into Lake Tahoe for charity.
As of Mar. 17, nearly 400 registered plungers had raised more than $130,000 for Special Olympics.
The party will continue on Sunday morning with snowshoe races beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Beach Retreat and Lodge. All registered plungers are invited to attend free of charge and guests are able to register online.
