South Lake Tahoe Police look for suspect in attempted rape

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KRNV & -- South Lake Tahoe Police Department are looking for the man who allegedly attempted to rape a female on Dec. 31, 2012.

Police say the 25-year-old female victim accepted a ride from the suspect who promised to drive her directly to the place she was staying. The victim did not know the suspect.

Police say the suspect then drove around for about 10 minutes before parking his pickup truck, saying he was trying to use his GPS to find the house. The suspect then attacked the victim. During the struggle, the suspect was able to pull down the victim's pants, but the victim resisted and was ultimately able to run away. Police say she then fled to a friend's home. Though no one was yet home, she was able to get inside the house, where she took refuge until her friends returned.

The pickup truck is described as an older white Ford with a manual transmission and black cloth seats. The suspect was described as a white male, about 25 years old, 5'7 and about 150 pounds with a skinny build. His hair was wavy and brown, about 2" on the top and about 1" on the sides. The victim estimated he had a week's worth of facial stubble.
