Sen. Harry Reid responds to ice bucket challenge

WASHINGTON, D.C. ( & KRNV) -- Senator Harry Reid has responded to the Ice Bucket Challenge from Carson City resident Mike Wedin.

At 3:49 p.m., the Senate Majority Leader responded on Twitter:

#IceBucketChallenge accepted from @BrianSandoval & Mike Wedin. I'm donating to support ALS. Let's agree that more funding to NIH is needed.

The ice bucket challenge calls for a person to dump an bucket of ice water on their head, or donate $100 to ALS research.

On Thursday, Wedin took the challenge and nominated Reid, who has been a strong supporter of ALS research. Wedin was diagnosed with ALS a year ago.
