One person in custody after shooting in downtown Reno injures one

Reno Police have arrested one person after a shooting in downtown Reno sent one person to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Police say there is no longer a threat to the public as of 12 p.m.

It happened about 11 a.m., after a report of shots fired near South Virginia Street and Third Street near the Eldorado Casino.

A News 4 employee said there is blood outside the Eldorado Casino's front door.

Also, witnesses reported hearing multiple gun fire just after 11 a.m.

The suspect was taken into custody by officers after fleeing on foot.

South Virginia Street is closed to traffic from the Reno Arch to Plaza Street.

Reno Police are asking any witnesses to the shooting to contact the department at 334-COPS (2677) or to call Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
