Missing, endangered 69-year-old Reno found dead in Douglas County

Reno police say that 69-year-old Allan Pankey was found deceased in Douglas County on Aug. 24.

His vehicle was also located nearby.

Pankey's remains were taken to the Washoe County Medical Examiners Office where his cause of death will be determined.

The Reno Police Department is asking for the public's help locating a missing and endangered man.

On Monday, Aug. 21, police responded to a residence in south Reno on the report of a missing elderly man.

After speaking with family members, authorities determined that 69-year-old Allan Pankey had been missing since Aug. 18 and is possibly suffering from dementia.

Mr. Pankey should be driving his red 2004 Chrysler Sebring with a ripped tan fabric top and a damaged side front fender.

He is described as a white male, approximately 6-feet tall, 100 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes.
