Possible bill requires counseling for animal abusers
RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Animal advocates from across the state are lending support for Assemblyman Mike Sprinkle's bill that will require mandatory counseling for anyone convicted of animal abuse. The bill will require the abuser to pay for their own counseling.
It was sparked by the case of Jason Brown who is being held in the Reno Court pending trial on animal cruelty charges. He is accused of dismembering seven animals.
Brown is due in court at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday for a status hearing on his case.
