Police search for two male suspects who robbed, beat Sparks man at gunpoint

Sparks police are searching for two males who they say robbed and beat a man at gunpoint early Tuesday morning, according to Sgt. Jace Thelin.

Just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 5, police responded to the area of Merchant St. and Sullivan Ln. after nearby residents heard screaming and saw a male chasing another male.

When officers arrived on scene, they located an injured 32-year-old Sparks man. The victim told officers he had been chased by two Hispanic males, one of which was armed with a handgun.

According to Sgt. Thelin, the victim was robbed and beaten, however, he refused additional medical attention from Remsa medics.

The suspects are described as Hispanic males either in their late teens or early twenties. Suspect #1 was described as approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall with black spiky hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black shorts. Suspect #2 is described as approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall with a heavier build. He was last seen wearing a backwards black NFL ball cap, and dark clothing.

The two suspects were last seen running southbound on Sullivan Ln.

The Sparks Police Department is asking for assistance from the community with identifying the suspects from the robbery. Anyone with information on the suspect’s identities is urged to contact the Sparks Police Department Detective Division at 353-2225 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
