Reno police conducting homicide investigation after overnight shooting on Lake St.

Reno police are conducting a homicide investigation after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed early Wednesday morning, according to Sgt. KC Myers.

Authorities responded to shots fired on the 600 block of Lake St. just after midnight on Aug. 23.

Once on scene, officers located a male with several gunshot wounds. The male was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Several witnesses were located and were able to describe an altercation in the street prior to the shooting as well as the vehicle seen leaving the seen.

During the initial patrol response, the occupants of the vehicle drove themselves to the Reno Police Department to provide a statement.

Detectives with the Robbery and Homicide Division are continuing the investigation. At this time, there are no outstanding suspects and all individuals who were involved are cooperating with police.
