Two people have died following a rollover crash on State Route 376, north of Tonopah, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

According to NHP, preliminary investigation indicates that a maroon Ford Fusion was traveling northbound on SR-376 when the driver lost control of the car. The driver attempted to make attempts to regain control, but the vehicle went off the roadway and rolled over. Both occupants were ejected from the car, and neither were wearing a seat belt.

One of the occupants was pronounced deceased on the scene and the other was transported via helicopter to a hospital in Las Vegas where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The names of both girls are being withheld until next of kin can be notified.

NHP says the 22 and 23-year-old occupants were from Portland, Oregon.
