Nevada veteran from Vietnam War awarded second Bronze Star
CARSON CITY, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
A U.S. Army veteran on Wednesday received the Bronze Star with a V device for valor, in recognition for his service in the Vietnam War 30 years ago.
Richard Moyer was among several veterans honored during the opening ceremony of Veterans and Military Day at the Nevada Legislature on Wednesday, March 15.
Moyer previously received the Bronze Star for meritorious service, as well as three Purple Hearts and an Army Commendation for Valor and Heroism.
John Louritt received the Veteran of the Month award. Louritt served with the U.S. Marine Corps and is a retiree of the South Lake Tahoe Police Department.
Honor Flight Nevada was recognized as Veteran Supporter of the Month.
