Nevada Rep. Amodei discusses voting for GOP health care bill
FALLON, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
Nevada Rep. Mark Amodei explained why he ultimately decided to vote in favor of the Republican health care bill that would overhaul federal regulations.
Amodei initially opposed the American Health Care Act, saying he was concerned that it could impact Nevadans who rely on Medicaid.
While visiting Fallon for the "big dig" on Wednesday, the Republican lawmaker said changes introduced to the AHCA convinced him it wouldn't impact those enrolled in Medicaid.
He added that he believes the health care system under the Affordable Care Act isn't working, and that Americans deserve better.
Amodei said he doesn't expect the AHCA to easily pass in the Senate, and that it will likely see some changes.
